Bamenda Regional Hospital Earns Prestigious Health Award


Director of RHB Recieves a Leadership Health Award in Yaoundé

During the 4th edition of Award of Excellence in Health Leadership, Bamenda Regional Hospital NWR, emerged best in service delivery amidst the health crisis and the ongoing armed conflict in that part of Cameroon.

Though it remains a civic responsibility for everyone to adhere to advice; respect barrier measures put in place by the World Health Organization- WHO and the Cameroon government, the Bamenda Regional Hospital has been at the forefront to counteract doubts, wrong information and respond to the needs of the local population.

The Director of the Regional Hospital Bamenda, Dr. Denis Nsame speaking with Civiclens.info expressed satisfaction over the recognition he earned through the Leadership Health Award.

"This award comes to us as the Best Regional Hospital in Cameroon under my leadership. I wish to express great satisfaction, this will push us to do better so as to maintain this top position".

"It is a great motivation to all the 510 staff of the Regional Hospital Bamenda, that someone out there is seeing our collective efforts. This will urge us to maintain our humanitarian culture, as we continue to offer quality health care to the population greatly affected by the ongoing socio- political crisis" Dr. Denis Nsame, Director R.H Bamenda.

Minister of Public Health, Hands Health Award to NW Regional Delegate

Dr. Denis Nsame was accompanied by NW Regional Delegate of Public Health, Che Nsoh Kingsley who was also singled out for his actions in ensuring that the people in the Northwest region are abreast with information concerning Covid-19 and its prevention methods.

The Leadership Health Awards comes at a time when there exist a proliferation of information on social media about Covid-19 and the Covid Vaccine. This has been a huge challenge for health personels at the Bamenda Regional Hospital.

The management of the Regional Hospital Bamenda has been working in close collaboration with the NW administration, to continue sensitization on the need to stay safe from the deadly virus.

Laureates take the stage

The Award ceremony took place in Yaoundé on November 18th 2021, under the patronage of the Minsiter of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie, the Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel Sadi and the President of the Organizing Committee, Joseph Mbeng Boum.

In prelude to the event proper, a Press Conference was granted on November 11th 2021 at the Echos Santé Group headquarters, located at Efoulant Pont- Yaoundé, to better plan and set objectives for the Award Excellence on Health Leadership.

Director of  Tubah District Hospital Recieves a Leadership in Health Award in Yaoundé

Aside other awards given to a cross section of hospitals and health districts in Cameroon, Tubah District hospital in Bamenda emerged Best District Hospital from the Northwest region.

Doctor Dingana Therence Nwana, Director of the Tubah District Hospital, expressed delight about the Leadership in Health Award.

"I am extremely happy to have received an award for the BEST DISTRICT HOSPITAL IN THE NWR, an award instituted by the Minister of Public Health, Minister of Communication in collaboration with Echos Santé. It is an absolute honor. This took us aback and I am grateful for being recognized this year 2021 after many years of consistent hard work".

"I intend to live up to higher standards, than what this award demands. Implementing new strategies to improve on the quality of health care delivery services by my team. It will be a push for us at the Tubah District Hospital, to put in place new mechanisms and serve those who come seeking for our services, better". Director of Tubah District Hospital.

Recieving the award on behalf of his team, he recognized "the Technical bench of the Tubah District Hospital' and the entire staff of Tubah District Hospital" to whom he dedicated his success to.

Service delivery varies in components like; Leadership and governance, Financial management, human resource management, information and data management, available of medical equipment and medications, quality of services rendered to the clients and infrastructure.

The award ceremony aimed at boosting overall efficiency for hospitals and health districts across Cameroon, to encourage and celebrate health professionals who stood out significant in the discharge of their duties.

More than 80 winners under 11 categories recieved distinction awards at Djeuga Palace in Yaoundé.
