Tubah/Bafut MP Steers Fundraising in Bambili, Recieves Royal Acolytes


People in Bambili were a witness to a rare development and cultural revival on December 4th 2021, thanks to the leadership of His Majesty, Fon Afungchui III, the coordination of Eric Adangfung, President General of the Bambili Cultural and Development Association, and the inputs of Hon. Agho Oliver, MP for Tubah/Bafut constituency.

The event was organised by MBECUDA, the Mbeligi Cultural and Development Association with an estimated amount of 77 million Cfa francs raised as the local population converged at the palace esplanade for the phase II of the Giant Mbili water project, which cost over 600million cfa francs.

The President of MBECUDA who happens to be the GM of UNVDA, Andangfung Eric donated 5 million Cfa francs to the Water project meant for Bambili village, which will be harnessed from Lake Bambili expected to also supply the growing University community.


Inline to with donations, the MP put in efforts to mobilize resources through the launch of the water project from patrons, friends; from far and near in order to boost the project to a success.

Minister Atanga Paul Nji who coughed in 600,000cfa, Minister Mbayu Felix offered 100,000cfa, Mr/MrsJustice Malegho gave 500,000cfa, Mr/Mrs Tamajong - 100,000cfa, Mr Munju Vishi - 100,000cfa, Ngwakongo Lawrence, Mayor of Bafut offered 25000cfa, and Mme Jessica Newi Lengha supported the project with 100,000cfa.


Hon. Agho Oliver offered 300,000cfa, a contribution which made the Fon and the Bambili population highlighted. The MP lived up to expectations according bto the name he was given by the Fon; The Bambili hunter.

He cut short his stay in Yaounde as Parliament scrutinizes the 2022 state budget to take part in the fundraiser, being proactive at the community/grassroot level

Those who turned out for the event, also witnessed Eric Adangfung, main locomotive behind the event, contribute the sum of 500,0000cfa, with Tubah Mayor, Tanjong Martin offering 1million cfa and pledging close to 46million Cfa on behalf of Tubah Council.

North West Governor, Adolphe Lele L'Afrique marked his approving vignette of the event with 100,000cfa while Mezam SDO dolled out 200,000cfa, promising government support.


The new Tubah D.O that was presented to the public by Hon. Agho Oliver, MP for Tubah/Bafut, to a thunderous applause, contributed the modest sum of 50,000 fcfa.


While Bambili Fon Afungchui launched the royal basket with a symbolic 250,000cfa, urging quarters that make up Bambili village to make similar gesture.


Fundraiser was according to organizers, more an opportunity to celebrate the return of peace and normalcy in Bambili, than just gathering money for a water project, for as they put it, no development without peace.
