Achidi Achu Foundation

Created on Saturday July 09, 2022, in the presence of Peter Mafany Musonge and Philémon Yang, two former PMs, the Simon Achidi Achu Foundation was launched with the participation of several religious, governmental, parliamentary and traditional personalities.

Above all, it was an opportunity for the Achidi family to present not only the foundation that bears the name of one of the great figures in the history of Cameroon, but also the various members who compose it.

It is indeed a cell that represents the legacy of the man who died on May 4, 2021. Its main purpose is to continue the good works of the former Prime Minister while honoring his memory as a major peacemaker.

The foundation will be active in areas of promoting peace values,  educational support for children of all ages, the promotion of agriculture, development, assistance and empowerment of people especially the vulnerable.

This foundation has a website for the enhancement and promotion of the perpetual activities undertaken during the lifetime of Ex PM.

"It's about us thanking God for the life of our hero Simon Achidi Achu and we want to make sure he is not forgotten. We have a duty to ensure that his legacy endures”, President of the Foundation Judith Yah Sunday Achidi, wife of the illustrious deceased.

At a time when Cameroon is active in the fight against secession, this foundation presents itself as a favorable weapon for the return of peace in the North-West and South-West regions.

A necessary challenge if we stick to the tributes paid during this ceremony. For having actively contributed to the maintenance of peace (through his actions and his positions), during the troubles that occurred in Cameroon in 1991, the former Prime Minister was praised by the Minister of Vocational Training Issa Tchiroma Bakary and Philémon Yang who believe the foundation materializes all that he has done and what he could not do.

“Simon Achidi Achu has constantly made efforts to succeed and he has always had the right attitude. I commend him for making great efforts all the time and adopting the right attitude whenever a situation arose".

A gala dinner punctuated the finals of the football tournament, of the foundation drawing the football tournament to a close.
