Bir Campaign to fight Cataract in Garoua- Boulai



The Rapid Intervention Battalion through its national coordinator, Colonel François Pénéné during a mini reception ceremony  in Garoua- Boulai paid tribute to the  Ophthalmologist doctor, Doctor Doka Titus for his role in serving the local population, especially managing the situation of cataract affecting many in that part of Cameroon.

"You played a role in sustainability of this salutary civil-military action, always by our sidee. For all the actions and the constant support on the ground in the fight against cataracts, we are grateful Bir".
Cataract surgery campaign


The high command of the rapid intervention battalion has already taken up residence in Garoua- Boulai in the Ilom and djerem region of eastern Cameroon for the operation dubbed "Bir against blindness".

Among the more than 300 people already registered for the operation which began on Tuesday, June 19, 2022, are several children whose age varies between 6 and 13 years old. 


Main hospital  in the sub-region, the Protestant hospital of Garoua Boulaï.

The hospital center which has ended up asserting itself, over the years, as one of the strong links in the health system of the E.E.L.C, Cameroon and the Central African sub-region

Garoua-Boulaï, known as the kingdom of the melting-pot, is a town in Cameroon located in the East region, in the Lom-et-Djérem, on the border with the Central African Republic.

The Garoua-Boulaï community was created in June 1977, in the context of the Central African civil war, it hosts several thousand refugees from the Central African Republic. At the 2018 census, the town had 70,368 inhabitants, including 22,410 for Garoua-Boulaï Ville.
