The Minister of Youth affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou has chaired, on July 20, 2022 at Limbe Centunary Stadium, the solemn launch of the activities related to an operation dubbed; the "citizen and patriotic holidays".
It's first launch was in 2015 under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education (Minjec). Its 7th edition in 2022, aims at raising awareness among young people about the evils that undermine society.
For this edition, the theme that accompanies the operation is “Crusade against the proliferation and consumption of drugs and narcotics during the holiday period".
The Minister of Youth and Civic Education Mounouna Foutsou began his remarks with a "minute of Civisme", devoting to the fight against the consumption of drugs and narcotics and explained the importance of the "Citizens and Patriotic Holidays 2022" operation with regard to the abuses often observed in young people.
Sports being a vehicle for raising awareness among young people, the Minister kicked off the opening match for the occasion. During this launch, MINJEC handed over a cleaning equipment.
This equipment consists of squeegees, seals, mops, and many other necessities for the maintenance of Limbe Centunary Stadium. At the same time, he gave support (symbolic envelope) to the community mediators of the city of Limbé, to encourage them in their daily efforts.
Then engaged them within the framework of the operation “Citizen and Patriotic Holidays 2022” to be real vectors through which pass the values of citizenship, civic-mindedness in their immediate environment.
Before leaving the Limbe Centunary Stadium, Minister Mounouna Foutsou established a special bonus for the winner of the meeting solemnly handed over to the Organizing Committee through Ngoyo Leon.
The event got the attention of a renowned football player; who plays both at the international and national level, Faï Colins at the Limbe century stadium. This was a form of promoting patriotism, civic uprightness in youths.
