Cameroon - African Education Fair: Mounouna Foutsou Applauds Youth Efforts



Youth Affairs Minister, Mounouna Foutsohas shown signs of being overwhelmed with youth activities through a platform of exchanges, knowledge sharing and training in entrepreneurship, with particular workshops, seminars and competitions, organized from August 20th.


Organized in favor of young people, who have a view to diversify in acquiring knowledge; their technical and theoretical knowledge in all sectors of activity.


The official opening ceremony of the African Education Fair (Saed), was chaired on August 24, 2021 at Yaoundé City Hall, by the Minister of Youth and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou.

A meeting organized by the Association Jeunesse Unie et Solidaire d'Afrique (Jusa), in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic education, as well as that of Youth and Civic Education, the African Education fair was intended to boost the skills of young people and empower them morally.

Brice Tchakounté, President of the said association explained that the platform aimed at strengthening skills of youths and providing knowledge on activities from different sectors while building entrepreneurial skills. Several activities by artists and dance groups punctuated the ceremony.

An initiative welcomed by the representative of the Mayor of the city of Yaoundé, who also recognized all actions of decentralized local authorities, in favor of young people.

This opinion, shared by the Country Director of the Plan Cameroon organization, Dr Collins Sayang, who showed gratitude to the Cameroonian government for the special attention given to the education sector.

The representative of the Minister of Basic Education, congratulated the initiative of JUSA and listed government measures taken by his ministry, for the education and the training of youths.


Reiterating that Covid19 Barrier measures be respected, the Minister of Youth and Civic Education, proposed a holistic and complete reading of education around the triptych “young entrepreneurship, peace and integrity”.


Convinced about the urgency of the reforms that are needed in the education sector, this was justified his commitment to the fair, which ultimately has a multisectoral dimension, that goes in line with the missions of his ministerial goals.

It is on these assurances that Mounouna Foutsou cut the ribbon for the opening of the show and the visit of the stands, populated with young people.
