51st Edition National Day Celebrations: Youth Affairs Minister launches civil activities in Tubah, Mezam Division



It is within the framework of the civil demonstrations of the celebration of the 51st edition of the National Day in Cameroon that the Minister of Youth and Civic Education (Minjec), Mounouna Foutsou launched civil activities in the Northwest region for 2023.



The launching of Civil activities ahead of 20th May celebrations in the Northwest region took place at the University of Bamenda, where the Minister was recieved by The Vice Chancellor and a college of academians of the institution.


Students mobilized themselves by getting involved in different activities that spiced up the event, in welcoming the Youth affairs Minister and doing presentations as part of commemorating the launch of civic activities ahead of National Day Celebrations in the region.

In the prescence of NW administration, Members of the Regional House of Assembly, Parliamentarians, Mayors, traditional rulers and other development stakeholders, The Minister appreciated all that had been done to ensure that he had a smooth working visit in the Northwest region.

The VC introduced teams of the different sport disciplines of the institution to the Minister of Youth affairs and presented to him their trophies got from the just ended University games in Ngaoundere. She reiterated that there are challenges faced in drilling youths towards a bright future but promised not to give up on these young people.

Mounouna Foutsou, MINJEC Boss cautioned youths to shun delinquent habits and urged them to grab opportunities that come their way to enable gain volunteering skills, asking them train themselves for a better future.

The Regional Delegate for Youth affairs and Civic Education Northwest region, Mbanwie Frida Fri was particularly glad that the Minister was visiting the region, to inaugurated Youth Centres in 2 subdivisions and also launch Civil activities ahead of National celebrations.

She made an appraisal of how youths in the region are engaged with projects from the Ministry especially with the 3 year youth plan and how much these projects have sharpened the skills of these youths, who are now self employed, training other youths.

"I am particularly glad about your visit to the region, despite our context, youths in their majority across the region have proven their sense of maturity in getting themselves involved with the Head of State's vision by engaging in some of the project offered to them by MINJEC, for this we are proud. We continue to urge them to shun from drug abuse and clandestine behaviour to help them secure a better future for themselves", Regional Delegate MINJEC, Northwest region.

The Minister launched Civil activities marking the 51st edition of National Day 2023 under the theme "Defense forces and Cameroon People, in harmony to safe guard peace and national unity, bedrock of a strong and properous Cameroon".
