Mounouna Foutsou carried out a mid course evaluation visit on May 13 to the Specialized Higher Military Preparation (PMSS) of civic educators at the Center of Instruction of the Koutaba Airborne Troops Battalion. It was an opportunity for the minister to gauge the rise in power of these executives, called to become true soldiers of good citizenship.
Koutaba, crucible of excellence for civic educators
For 45 days, 98 civic educators from MINJEC have been receiving excellent training in this high place of military discipline. On the program: strengthening the personality of a leader, combat techniques and intensive physical fitness. “It’s about getting all the water and fat out of the body ,” explains Colonel Zo’o Messougla, commander of the center, with a touch of humor.
Seasoned civic educators, spearhead of PRONEC-REAMORCE
For Mounouna Foutsou, this training is a pillar of the implementation of the National Program for Civic Education through Moral, Civic and Entrepreneurial Rearmament (PRONEC-REAMORCE). “ We come to draw from the source of those whose core business is the protection of the State and the Nation, in order to make our contribution to the fight against incivism ,” he underlined, while reminding its troops of their primary mission: to be civic educators of the populations.
Towards a notable participation in the May 20 parade
But the real life-size test will be their participation in the civil parade on May 20 in front of the Head of State. A first for these soldiers of civics version 2.0, who will have to mark the spirits with their rigor and their patriotism. “Your visit to the Boulevard du 20 Mai, marked with solemnity, must cause a sensation ,” insisted Mounouna Foutsou, thus setting the bar very high.
This mid-internship evaluation visit is a strong signal: with Mounouna Foutsou at the helm, MINJEC is giving itself the means to achieve its ambitions. By focusing on the military training of its executives, the ministry intends to equip itself with a civic elite, capable of upholding the values of discipline, unity and patriotism.
