Covid-19: NW Governor Warns on Existence of Second Wave

 Adolphe Lele Lafrique, through a communiqué, has drawn the attention of the Northwest Population on the existence of the second wave of Covid19, present in the region.

Released on February 12th 2021, tells of over a thousand affected, 81 deaths and more than 40 cases from health facilities in different Communities. In Recent days Covid19 cases are said to have increased; cases reported at health units, with 116 new positive cases and five covid-19 related deaths.

The Governor of the NWR urges every one to play a role in ensuring that barrier measures to guard against the deadly disease be kept. “It is Important for sensitization to continue, telling the population on the strict respect of barrier measures against covid-19", NW Governor.




He also announced an up-coming mass campaign for covid-19 testing planned for the next three months in all health facilities, schools and communities. He appealed for community collaboration to make the campaign a success.

Bamenda is the epicenter of the pandemic in the NW region. But Mezam, Boyo, Donga Mantung and Ngoketunja are the divisions most afftected in the second wave of the disease.
