Manipal Hospital Conducts Cardiology Workshop for CAMP and CAMASEJ D



More than 50 persons from the Cameroon Association of Media Professionals and Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists, Douala have attended a workshop online, rolled out by Manipal hospitals, in India.

Taking place though a webinar on August 16th, Dr Ranjan Shetty, HOD Interventional Cardiology, Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt. Ltd said, “The main aim of this session is to help people understand the importance of cardiovascular diseases and how work-related stress can give rise to cardiovascular issues."


Participants were introduced to ways they can avoid cardio logical issues with lifestyle changes. The session gave an insight on how long-term stress can increase blood cholesterol, blood sugar & blood pressure, which gives rise to heart ailments.

The session was extensive, giving tips on various methods to prevent cardiovascular issues and also on lifestyle changes, necessary to be adopted to avoid reaching an advanced stage.

"Prevention is better than cure and we leveraged this opportunity to explain to them about the importance of maintaining a healthy routine, exercising and healthy diet which can help in improving health for the heart.”

According to Mr Karthik Rajagopal, Chief Operating Officer, Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt. LTD, "the session was interactive and was enjoyed by the audience. The present pandemic taught us the importance of building a global network of healthcare ecosystem, which will help us to bridge the gaps in the healthcare chain".

More workshops have been envisaged to share knowledge and learn more from the global healthcare ecosystem.
