Bamenda I Council Priotizes People's need at Administrative Account Session



In the course of adopting the management and administartive account of the Bamenda I Council on April 7th 2022, Mayor Mbigha Felix has placed as priority the needs of the local population in his municipality.


The session adopts 519,372,333 cfa francs in revenue and 472,583,521 cfa francs in expenditure, with a supplies of 46,783,811 cfa francs, observing a drop in the Council's account this year 2022.

Projects envisaged are; providing portable water to the community, supporting youths in poultry farming, building bridges and expanding roads within her municipality.


Mayor Mbigha Felix explained to media that some projects had been realized. “We realized so many projects last year such as the construction lf classrooms, construction of hospitals, donation to schools and extending electricity in some remote areas which did not have electricity.”

Functioning with a difficult context, the ongoing armed conflict has posed as a challenge to the council in collecting revenue. Mayor Mbigha Felix acknowledged government's effort in helping the council meet some of the needs of the people.

"The council is unable to efficiently raise revenue. The population has not been not left out of government's financial support in the realization of projects. I wish to call on all to respect their civic duties in paying taxes for the council to be able to realize more projects", Mayor Mbigha Felix.
