Cameroon: MINJEC-MINCommerce collabo to fight high cost of living



Minjec-Mincommerce signed an agreement on February 2, 2023 in Yaoundé to begin fighting against the high cost of living in favor of young holders of the Biometric Youth Card.


Ministers involved in the MoU signing; Mounouna Foutsou and Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana respectively. This was also part of activities marking the celebration of the 57th edition of the 2023 Youth Day.

The Ministry of Youth and Civic Education through the "Youth Village" and the National Youth Observatory (ONJ) ​​intends , participate in the Promotion of Less Expensive Life in a socio-economic context characterized by rising prices of basic foodstuffs.

Through this activity, the Minister of Youth and Civic Education (MINJEC) is offering Cameroonian Youths this exhibition-sale platform to facilitate their access to basic food products at very affordable prices.

It advocates for the popularization of young people's access to the Biometric Youth Card (CJB) through reductions offered on products and/or services. The Biometric Youth Card (CJB) is a multi-service card by which its holder can benefit from various reductions on services such as: hospital care, travel and more. 

This activity is also in fulfillment of the promise of the President of the Republic, Paul BIYA, in the integration and development of Cameroonian youth.
