MINJEC lays first stone for the Construction of Multifunctional Center in Pitoa, North region



The Minister of Youth and Civic Education visited the Garoua International Airport, welcomed by the inspector general of the region, for a working from April 3-6th 2023 in the North region.


MINJEC chaired the official launching ceremony of phase III of the project that supports the socio-economic resilience of vulnerable youths, implemented with the German Cooperation GIZ.

Minister Mounouna Foutsou visited the construction sites of the youth center and the multifunctional center for the promotion of young people in the Pitoa district, Up North.

Leaving the airport, MINJEC was accompanied by the Governor of the North region, Jean Abate Edi'i and later visited the Mayor of the city of Garoua, Dr. Ousmaila Mohamadou who died on March 23rd 2023 following illness in Yaounde.

Heading for Pitoa, the Minister visited the construction site of the youth center and lay the first stone for the construction of the Multifunctional Youth Promotion Center .

Here in this district located about 17 km from Garoua, the capital of the North Region, the Minister of Youth and Civic Education visited the construction site of the youth center before laying the first stone.

The first deputy mayor of the municipality of Pitoa said the welcome word.

"Beyond the economic issues, this space represents for our Commune, a symbol of living together and cohesion society, true binders of our national unity. For us, this achievement is a vector of dignity and fulfillment of our youth, a factor of social inclusion, a catalyst for development"

"As part of the resources transferred, our Commune received this year an endowment of 60,000,000 francs from your Ministerial Department for the Construction of a Multifunctional Center for the Promotion of Young People (CMPJ) in Pitoa. These strong, concerted and long-term actions in favor of our youth, testify to the constant concern of the President of the Republic with regard to this important segment of our population".

It is Boubakary Mohamadou, the municipal president of the National Youth Council carried the voice of his peers.

Minister ounouna declined the purpose of his visit to the Northern Region. On the works from which the young people of Pitoa will now benefit, the Minjec affirms.

"From now on, the Commune of Pitoa will have both a Youth Center and a Multifunctional Center for the Promotion of Young People (CMPJ) in the district, of which we will lay the first stone in a few moments. Naturally, this privilege is made possible thanks to the determination of the Father of the Nation, His Excellency Mr. Paul BIYA*

" To the fruitful German Cooperation, whom I would like to thank once again, very solemnly here. I therefore ask you, dear young beneficiaries, to make the best possible use of it. Remember that your brothers, sisters and friends are watching you and waiting to see your results, to follow in your footsteps.*

As mentioned by the mayor during the formal ceremony, as part of the resources transferred, the municipality received this current year, an allocation of sixty million francs from the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education for the construction of the said Center.

MINJEC ends stay in Pitoa by partnering with GIZ through the project , laying the first stone for the construction of the multifunctional center for the promotion of young people.
