Associated with the commemoration of the Year 4 of the Youth Connect Cameroon Program and the Organization of the first edition of the National Extracurricular Sports Games, Youth Affairs Minister chaired 2nd preparatory meeting on 10 November 2023 in Yaoundé.
The International Exhibition for the Promotion of Youth Entrepreneurship is an initiative implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education to promote the projects of young beneficiaries of government and non-governmental projects and programs.
The objective of the meeting was for the Minister of Youth and Civic Education (Minjec), Mounouna Foutsou, to see the progress of his three upcoming events in Yaoundé.
This is the third edition of the International Youth Entrepreneurship Promotion Fair (Siprome-jeunes), the commemoration of Year 4 of the Youth Connect Cameroon Program and the Organization of the first edition of the National Games of Extracurricular sport.
Minister Mounouna Foutsou indicated that the theme chosen for this edition is: “resilience and competitiveness of young businesses: challenges and opportunities of the African continental free trade area”.
Emphasis is therefore placed on the competitiveness of the products and services of the young participants in this show. “It’s about allowing young people from extracurricular structures to express their sporting, artistic and cultural talents,” insisted Minjec.
“We must keep in mind the imperative need to make Siprome-jeunes a space for promoting the actions and products of young people, a field of opportunities for young entrepreneurs and a framework for appropriation of the youth strategy. "integration of young businesses and the dynamics of free trade", affirmed Minister Mounouna Foutsou.
The presentation on the progress of the preparations for these different events was made by the Head of Scientific Commission. It appears that this edition will be structured around several very interesting areas which will bring together a set of activities with a view to promoting the entrepreneurial spirit among young people.
These include the challenges of the enterprising student, challenges on school innovation, miss youth entrepreneurship, the star model section, the Chamber of youth entrepreneurship icons and information and mobilization days for structures of education and teaching on Siprome.
Regarding the Marketing Commission, several strategies have been implemented to this initiative. Practically speaking, several ambassadors have been chosen to support this project.
Regarding the National Extracurricular Sports Games, several sporting disciplines have been selected. These include judo, handball, volleyball, football, subject to other additional proposals from the administration.
