NW Governor Tell Youths to Remain Patriotic, Keep Covid19 Barrier Measures

Youths have turned out in their numbers at Upstation Bamenda and taken part in activities marking the launching of youth week activities 2021. They have been advised to remain patriotic as they carry out their daily activities and respect barrier measures against Covid-19 in order to keep safe and healthy.

The Governor of the Northwest region Adolphe Lele Lafrique  during his launching speech on February 4th 2021 at RMIA5 in Bamenda, marking the 55th Edition of Youth day activities, cautioned pupils and students to be steadfast admist the health crisis and sociopolitical crisis.

"This year's youth week celebration is holding during a critical context marked by the Covid19 pandemic which has come to aggravate the consequences we are already facing with the socio political crisis rocking our region. In that regard I urge you all to stay safe and respect the barrier measures put in place by the government and World Health organization" Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique.




The 55th Edition of Youth day celebration 2021 is marked by the theme; Youth, Resilience, Challenges and Opportunities in times of Covid 19. The Governor expressed satisfaction with the mobilization observed, as the pupils from different schools braved the odds to prepare themselves ahead of the Youth Day, February 11th.

"Congratulations to what the youths are doing, to engage in mobilizing themselves despite difficulties. They have taken advantage of all profit to stay true as citizens and I continue to call on those in the bushes.





NW Governor visits the stands

Pupils of different schools took part in choral singing, traditional and  ballet dance, a football match to give the day a colour it deserved. Support came the Governor to the different groups and he visited the stands to see goods/products exhibited and appreciated them.

It is worth noting that the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou spent 3 days in the Far North Region to launch at the National Level, the start of Youth Week activities ahead of Youth day celebrations.



One of the major innovations Of this year's celebration is the establishment of of the Youth's Municipal Councils(YMC).
