56th edition of the Youth Day: Garoua opens the activities in music



The day opened with a Giant Youth Concert at the Roumdé Adjia stadium, on January 31, 2022, under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education.

The objective of the concert was to welcome February 11th with the grandeur befitting of the day and as a prelude to the day's official launch by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC), Mounouna Foutsou.

This year's 56th edition of the youth day, was used as a forum to highlight the nees for living together, in cultural diversity.  This was seen in the performances of artists from all the 10 regions of Cameroon and the diaspora. 

The concert was an initiative of the National Youth Council of Cameroon (Cnjc), branch of the North, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Youth Affairs p and Civic Education.

MINJEC, on a working visit to the North region held a meeting with young people of the said region and according to Youth Affairs Minister, "the youth festival is far from being just a moment of reflection for the emergence of Cameroon, or even the exposure of know-how, but also represents young people in moments of entertainment, fulfillment and emulation."

The concert has been described as more than entertainment, it is the place to demonstrate national unity and live it together, to kids of school going age to experience an exceptional moment of national unity in Garoua around the musicians and artists of Garoua and those coming from all over Cameroon, to transmit awareness messages and slogans through selected sketches and comedies and to contribute to the animation of the African Cup of Nations which continues and to prepare the launch of the Youth Day", indicated Mounouna Foutsou . The Minjec also took advantage of the fact of being at the Roumdé Adjia stadium to extend its warm and sincere congratulations to all the young volunteers and stewards, who, through their civic and civic participation, have contributed effectively to the notorious success of the activities of the Can Totalenergies 2021 on the Garoua site.


“For me, it was an acceptable party, I liked it, I had fun with the artists, we also thank the Minister for making us live this. I urge young people to behave well and also to support the country well, so that it can move forward, ”rejoices a spectator. “On the occasion of the celebration of the 56th edition of the National Youth Day, we thought it was important to be able to commune with the youth. The youth of the northern region, especially at the Roumdé Adjia stadium, knowing that we are in the midst of the African Cup of Nations. It is also a way of being able to show the young people of the north that we can celebrate in these infrastructures which have been set up by the Head of State, so that young people can benefit from them to the maximum, not only for football, but also for artists. It was important to use art, to use culture to be able to raise awareness among young people, to advocate a message of peace, a message of living together harmoniously, but also a message to say stop to drugs, especially in these particular contexts of Covid-19. And it was a way for us to engage young people as much as possible, because here we are in the responsible commitment of Cameroonian youth, more particularly that of the North region in particular that of Garoua, and today we have communed with the artists", indicated Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, President of the Cnjc. but also a message to say stop to drugs especially in these particular contexts of Covid-19. As a reminder, the working visit to the northern region of Minjec is part of the activities of the 56th Youth Day hosted by this region this year. The official launch marking this celebration is scheduled for February 1 , 2022 in the city of Poli, Faro department. The theme chosen this year by the Head of State, Paul BIYA is "Youth and voluntary participation in the challenges of Cameroon".
