UCCC charged to Revamp Economy of Northwest



United Councils and Cities of Cameroon, UCCC, held its 5th General Assembly that put in place a Divisional, Regional and National body to supervise municipal activities and Development projects.

These Candidates were elected by acclamation and installed in office by the Governor of the Northwest Region, Adolphe Lele LAfrique on Saturday July 11th in Bamenda, capital city of the Northwest Region.


Denis Awoh Ndang from Fundong Council as President and team lead for the Northwest region, Mbigha Felix, Mayor for Bamenda 1 Council as his assistant, charged by the Governor to rebuild local communities and put an end to violence for the return of Peace.


The call for the fight against the Coronavirus disease could not be overemphasized as much is expected from the installed teams to "accompany the Government and the World Health Organization to shun out Covid-19." The Governor.

He also commissioned them to " embark on peace a crusade for those who have decided to destroy social structures, though your lifes have been threatened, there is need for you to accompany security in carrying your mission and bring pepetrators to book." The Governor added.

Mayors are by his message expected to return an function in their different municipalities in different capacities, and using the population to ensure that the recommendations acquired at Paul Tassong's coming, be implemented.


The Mayor of Wum Council, Dighambong Anthony Mvo, the lead of the national team elected by acclamation, says a success is sure.

"We are people of trophies and the Northwest is going for nothing less. We stand for the Northwest region especially with the socio political situation, we hope that through the UCCC alot of changes will come" Mayor of Wum Council.
