MP Momo East Donates Day Old Chicks to Farming Groups in Constituency




Member of parliament for Momo East constituency, Hon Injoh Fongang Prudencia has carried out the second phase distribution of 5000 day old chicks to the population of Mbengwi.

On Saturday February 6th 2020 at the mbon motor park about 1000 of these chicks were distributed, as it was the first phase of the exercise, where shortage was observed from the hatchery in Bamenda, Northwest Region.

Many internally displaced persons women, youths and farming groups including the vulnerable showed up with beneficiaries disappointed given that the chicks were insufficient and their expectations weren't meet.


The donor called on all to remain optimistic and conscious for the second phase ans to match action with words the Mbengwi council hall was the point of convergence, as recently hundreds of these beneficiaries enmarked, showed up to take home their own share of the chicks and other items.


Amongst the things distributed were; over 3000 day old chicks to economically empower the population, a grass cutting machine to GBHS Mbengwi, another to the Mbembi council including a water pump to promote gardening in Mbengwi in the dry season, a generator to butchers and a cold store operators to serve as backup energy source in case of power failure.


An engine saw to Mbemi village, hoes cutlasses ,dig axes ,rain boots and cash prizes to some pupils and teachers that performed well in the just ended first school leaving certificate and common entrance examinations just to name these few.

Mr Ndang Walters is the alternate member of parliament for momo east constituency- Mbengwi, sitting in for Honorable Injoh Fongang Prudencia, he told the press;

"We have come to encourage the teachers for the job well done because we see that Momo division came first in the first school leaving certificate examinations and second in the common entrance."

According to him the pleasant results and the students themselves needed to be encouraged for their excellence and for upholding the intergrity of their community.

"You know with security challenges, its been difficult going through the hinterlands but as things would be normalizing we will have to penetrate in other villages so that they can profit from this gesture."


Before handing over the items proper, Kadiri Amadou the Second deputy mayor of the Mbengwi council appreciated the MP for her gesture while encouraging her to subsequently carry out such interventions in the surbobs in order to reach out to all her constituents;

'I want to thank the honorable member of parliament for Mbengwi Mme Fo'ngang Prudencia for this gesture, made for our municipality for the second time. I pray that we still have more things from our MP, that this distribution should not end at the level of Mbengwi but go into the interior villages like taiyi ,like njaitu".


The assistant Divisional officer for Mbengwi on his part saluted the move while assuring the donor that administration of Mbengwi is strongly behind her. He encouraged other politicians of the Sub division and Division to emulate such examples;

"It is a wonderful day we really thank our honorable member of parliament for this important gesture, she has proven that she is the right person at the right moment, we use this opportunity to also encourage the beneficiaries that the gifts here are for you and should be properly used."

"we encourage other givers or donors, calling on other politicians as well as other elites of this sub division to copy the example of our MP. The administration of Mbengwi sub division is very happy with her gesture during this difficult period."


It was a relatively smooth distribution exercise as Claudia, a beneficiary extended a vote of thanks to the MP, who doubles as the donor.

"We pray that God continues to guide her and keep her so that she would carry her works through and we promise to take care of what has been given to us and to carry on with activities of our lifes while helping our families and other people who have not benefited from it. "

Prior to these donation excercise honorable Injoh Fo'ngang Prudencia had also necessitated the disbursements of 51,400,000frs from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education to some 58 youths in the Momo east constituency.

These youths were selected as beneficiaries of the Three year special youth plan instituted by the President of the Republic in 2015, to accelerate the socio-economic integration of young boys and girls between the ages of 15- 30.
