Pascal Abunde Says Victory for PWD Bamenda is Panacea Back Home



Football fans from Bamenda, Northwest region of Cameroon arrived Yaounde on March 13th 2022 in their numbers in order to support PWD Bamenda in the Cameroon Cup finals to take home the trophy. A victory that has been termed a panacea for those back home suffering the effects of the ongoing armed conflict.


"We are happy to have gotten to this point and looking at the faces of fans with the total mobilization done by the Regional Assembly, stakeholders and elites, Including some elites from the Southwest region who believe it's our time."


"The victory for us is of enormous significance. We come from a region that is characterized by socio political upheavals and we know that there is absolutely nothing that brings a people together than sports, football in Particular. This is a once in a life time opportunity for us to do everything to appeace the minds of aggrieved persons. PWD's football will be that panacea". President of PWD Bamenda, Abunde Pascal.

At the time of this report, the football match between PWD and Astres of Douala had already lasted for 32 mimutes on the pitch of play at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé with Chem Mbunwe Hubert scoring the first goal for PWD at the 17th minute.
