On March 24th, 2025, the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) marked a significant milestone—its 40th anniversary—at the Bali Municipal grandstand in the Mezam III Section.
This ruby jubilee comes at a crucial time for Cameroon, coinciding with the nation's preparations for upcoming presidential elections.
Mayor Wandum Ernest Bunga, who serves as both the CPDM section president for Mezam III and the mayor of the Bali Municipal council, expressed his optimism regarding the party's future.
He highlighted the enthusiastic involvement of the youth in Bali, who have rallied behind the vision of national president Paul Biya, emphasizing peace and development.
In his remarks, Mayor Wandum praised the local youth for their dedication to peace and their firm stance against violence.
"I love them for taking the decision to turn their backs against violence, deceit, and distortion of historical facts within our country," he stated, reflecting the party's commitment to a peaceful future.
Adding to his community engagement, Mayor Wandum recently made a generous donation of cash and a borehole to the Muslim community of Njenka, along with slabs to local butchers.
He conveyed his confidence in the CPDM's assured victory in the upcoming elections, attributing this expectation to the solid groundwork laid over the years.
"I expect that in the upcoming elections, this drastic change in mindset and return to reason within Bali will be reflected in a resounding victory for our champion. We are fully mobilized to regain the council for our great national party," he affirmed.
Founded on March 24th, 1985, in Bamenda, the CPDM has demonstrated remarkable resilience despite the ongoing regional challenges. Over the years, the party has effectively guided the Bali Municipal council, steering the community toward stability and development even in times of crisis.
